Dear ,

Happy New Year from the Investec Cape Town Art Fair team. As we prepare for the highly anticipated 2025 edition of the fair, we’re thrilled to offer a fresh, playful celebration of contemporary art. The fair will take place from 21–23 February 2025, with the VIP Preview on Thursday, 20 February 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), bringing together 124 exhibitors and 500 artists from 58 countries and 5 continents. This year’s fair promises to be as diverse, inspiring, and engaging as ever — with something for everyone to discover.

A message from Laura Vincenti, Director

"In our 12th edition this year, with an impressive mix of curated sections, special projects and inner-city activations, the 2025 Investec Cape Town Art Fair will offer a compelling and unparalleled experience as part of Cape Town’s cultural landscape. We look forward to once again bringing together a global community of artists, collectors and art lovers. We invite you to join us and play a role in this wonderful art ecosystem.”

Our three curated sections will spark conversation and ignite new perspectives. Highlights include Tomorrows/Today curated by Dr Mariella Franzoni (Barcelona, Spain), which showcases cutting-edge practices from the global contemporary art scene. SOLO curated by Céline Seror (Amsterdam, Netherlands), featuring bold, solo presentations that offer a deep dive into an artist’s work. Generations curated by Heba El Kayal (London, United Kingdom), which focuses on the dialogue between emerging and established artists across generations. Additionally, the reimagined ALT section, now under the new name Lookout, will spotlight emerging galleries and innovative artistic narratives, offering visitors the chance to discover fresh voices in contemporary art. Alongside the core sections of the fair, Main and Editions, we’re excited to welcome Cabinet/Trophy — the second edition of Cabinet, Investec Cape Town Art Fair’s special project curated by Alexander Richards and Dr Phokeng Setai of Exhibition Match (Cape Town, South Africa). This new addition, promises to engage audiences with a thought-provoking presentation.

Unbound City Museum Shows

As part of our citywide activations and Unbound City programme, we’re thrilled to invite you to explore Cape Town’s vibrant art scene beyond the fair. During the art fair week, various local museums will host exclusive events, offering a chance to engage with exhibitions and works by leading artists in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

We’re also delighted to share that Investec has launched a brand-new five-part podcast series, Art in Focus, hosted by Tristanne Farrell. Ahead of the 2025 Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Tristanne dives into the contemporary art scene with conversations featuring art collectors, investors, professionals, and emerging artists. Listen to the first episode here featuring Hannah O'Leary, Sotheby's Head of Modern and Contemporary African Art, and Pule Taukobong, venture capitalist and avid art collector.

We look forward to welcoming you to Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2025 — a celebration of art, creativity, and the power of PLAY.
